So i bought these chairs from a very reputable source that tells me they are Neutra, and he tells me one is from 1949, the other is 1950...i probably overpaid, but he never charges me too much for anything. They are extremely well built for an aluminum tube chair, beautiful lines, and damn comfy Ive bought/traded many items with him and he has been on the money 99% of the time with provenance, but i have yet to find anything to back up the story on these. I do know many items for Neutra had very small production numbers,...maybe even just enough for that specific house, and random tiny places made the furniture for Neutra with little to zero markings, background info, etc.. Things of note: remarkable aluminum tube bending (very difficult to do without stretching/pressing the insides of the bends) which leads me to believe these are definitely a higher-end item the tubes butt-connect with oak dowels that slide inside the tubing at the joints in the top and bottom backs tubes they are different designs (his & hers im calling them) but are obviously by the same company My research has lead me nowhere and i would like to ID these if possible. Regardless, i plan to do a restoration on the frames with a light polish on the tubes and have all of the straps, springs, hardware galvanized. Cushions will be something tasteful and most likely Sunbrella cloth or similar
