So i finally realized why I (only speaking on my personal beliefs) hate pop music so much. I literally woke up this morning got a drink and immediately started playing through some jazz progressions in different inversions and what not and i thought to myself; wow its crazy to think theres people out there that spend their whole life working hard on an instrument whether it be guitar, drums, vocals, violin, cello, etc. to get beaten by the easily thrown together songs in the pop world. When i say get beaten i mean thats whats held up high in the world and sells. People like pop music now music with actual complexity is dying out. While the other more rational side of me tends to always overthrow this perspective by saying people can listen to what they want, its just so frustrating that these famous people now that are getting awards for being the greatest musicians are barely musicians, like theres a sellable formula everybody and the sooner you realize it the sooner you realize youre listening to the same stuff over and over. Take away Taylor Swifts Capo and every chord is the same, take away the bass drops in 99% of the songs out there and youll realize theyre not as kool. Im honestly so frustrated i cant construct sentences to show how furious i am. Just know pop music sucks. Its the same bullshit in every song. But you can listen to what you want to. /rant
