So i wrote a mail to a lot of bloggers/reviewers to request if they could review a book... i am sooo shocked at the response... even lack of it in some cases. As a reviewer, i feel privileged to be asked to review a book, be it a well known author or not, be it for a publisher or an author. But the demands that have to be met by some are ... well ...insulting.... i am totally shocked how some are still reviewing and being sent books. I am also shocked that unless you are a big author you actually get noticed.... and even if you do get noticed, its not a case of sending a book....its a case of books have to be sent here/we only review physical copies/you have to go through certain channels..... I mean, wtf... reviewers.. you are reading a book and putting up what you think.... you are not a star, you do not deserve special treatment/presents/paying. You have been asked for your opinion, you are getting sent someones work who has sat and poured all their effort into that work and now are putting it out there. Yes there are books we all dont like but dont be nasty. Dont be greedy and certainly do not be a demanding diva...you are certainly no literary critique!! Authors, if you think we ever do any of this please feel free to tell us... and give us a slap back down to reality.
