Theres been some controversy concerning previous research into this chemical, but agro-business has made it seem like this should discredit all research done into Roundup. This is a very dangerous position, given how widely used this chemical is. Here, in the UK, Roundup is one of the most widely used pesticides and the shelves at garden and hardware stores are packed with variations of Roundup, as well as lawnmixes and soils containing it. There is no need why British consumers should use this substance until Roundup has been proven beyone reasonable doubt to be safe. As a society we are getting sick in ways that have never been seen before. This needs to be addressed, because soon enough well have run out time. Governments will never be able to legislate against the end of the world, and there is still too much money to be made from it for humankind to do it collectively. I dont buy organic or fairtrade most of the time because its more expensive. But the fact that in the face of overwhelming evidence the vast majority of people prefer to continue to spray this stuff onto their gardens and crops, means we cant necessarily wait to leave this toxic system.
