So, imagine taking your lab/office and moving it to approximately a 5 minute walk from your house (which, by the way, flanks a watering hole frequented by gazelle and antelope, and includes Italian veterinarians and elephant behaviourists for housemates, and an elf who (theoretically) takes out the trash and sweeps the floors 2x/week), place a giant balcony deck 7 steps from your desk, and then condense a hoard of your favourite wild animals into the expansive work-residence compound of manicured habitats, including a giant tree-house aviary that is essentially your own private yoga studio in the mornings. And instead of sketchy homeless dudes and traffic, your commute to work includes ring tailed lemurs, gibbons, and penguins. Top that with placing this on a continent you’ve viewed most magical since you were a little kid, in an area that just-so-happens to be filled with awesome rock climbing, during a season of sunny days and late afternoon thunderstorms, and throw in a 50% increase in salary combined with a decreased cost of living for the privilege of doing pretty much exactly the kind of work you want to do … and that’s essentially what I’ve got going for me at the moment.
