So in discussing last nights State of The Union speech by President Barack Obama, or more specifically, the presidents willingness to use executive orders to break through Congressional gridlock, I encountered a gentleman who claimed he didnt want Congress to introduce legislation. He wanted them to repeal laws to include the 14th Amendment (dummies/how-to/content/the-us-constitutions-fourteenth-amendment.html) which I immediately had a problem with for reasons that will be obvious if you read that link. He went on to say that the Amendment wasnt needed because race relations were fine after the civil war ended (1865) until Woodrow Wilsons presidency (1913-1921). This man is a college graduate and not what most would consider unintelligent what I can tell besides this. However, he is severely misguided and mistaken on this topic. I share this to show because one of you may know someone who thinks similarly. Well call it DDS or Duck Dynasty Syndrome. You may prefer another version of the acronym that involves canine feces.
