So, in this day and age of the almost unseemingly unlimited power - TopicsExpress

So, in this day and age of the almost unseemingly unlimited power of the election machine of say, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, John Boener, or the Bush family collectively, or the sheer monetary power of influence of the Democratic power player Tom Steyer, or David and Charles Koch, George Soros, Sheldon Adelson, Steve Wynn, or one of President Obama’s top business allies, Warren Buffett, one must ask, what is YOUR vote worth? Do we still really, in reality, live in a constitutional republic? Then, we ask, do millions of dollars really matter in politics? Do YOU have MILLIONS of DOLLARS? The answer is probably NO; but, even if somehow YOU do have MILLIONS of dollars, they don’t mean much to the billionaires who give millions of dollars away for fun! And, I have several friends of are Billionaires. How many friends do you have who are millionaires, never mind billionaires? But, looking at someone who is NOT a friend, Steyer, for example, is worth an estimated $1.6 billion. He could donate $20 million every election cycle for the next 160 years. Could you? I dont think so!!! BUT WAIT!!! The Kochs are worth FIFTY (wait, in case you did not get that , 50) times as much as Steyer, and the Kochs have vowed to keep pouring money into politics. Then there is the CIA, the DIA, the NGIA, the NRO, the OIA, the NSA, the OIC. SO, lets step back. We live in a, what, democracy, free of, what was that, corruption? Im sorry, but when I was growing up, every summer I went to Providence to my family on my fathers side. I went to the Charles St. area, also known as the North End of Providence. It was almost all persons of Italian descent. According to FBI statistics, there were eyes everywhere. It was impossible to enter the neighborhood without everyone, and by everyone, I mean everyone (because they were all related) knowing about it. Further, according to the FBI statistics, during the 1980s and 1990s, over 90% of the law enforcement in Rhode Island, and over 80% of the law enforcement in Massachusetts was on the payroll of the, shall we say, certain Italian Business Associations. The question arises, why did the neighbors support the baseness associations with their eyes? The reason is, that is hard for those who did not grow up there, that those eyes were loyal to the associations and those who ran it because, although they were not elected, those who ran the associations represented the needs of the neighborhoods in ways that politicians today dont, because they only represent the KOCH brothers. So, I have to say this about my Uncle, Raymond L.S. Patriarca - while he may have done many horrible and inexcusable things, he was a better person than Pelosi, Reid, Boener, Obama, the Bushes, the Koches, or most national politicians and their supporters alive today. WHY? He never promised to uphold the Constitution, and yet, he never betrayed the Constitution, he really did protect the little guy, and he really did protect the neighborhood. On the other hand, those politicians? Makes one wonder what is the real meaning of corruption. As for Mario Puzos book, The GODFATHER (for whom my uncle (was a model), well it became a movie, directed by: Frank COPPOLA,,, go figure... youtube/watch?v=ugTnZ-0lkPU
