So in this past week weve seen some disappointing and Not HUGE behavior - BUT a few warm hearted instances that try and balance it all out. 1. A woman in Virginia dressed her child up as a KKK member for Halloween, because she believes in their mission. 2. In professional football we have Richie Incognito AND his fellow teammates of the Miami Dolphins apparently not finding anything wrong with his behavior. Incognito has been let go from three other teams, left hateful voicemails on a teammates phone, had multiple shirtless, angry, obscene and derogatory drunken bar room rants, all after being accused by a woman who is pressing charges stating Incognito used a golf club to inappropriately touch her after a team golf outing in 2012 - and yes he was drunk. 3. In Britain, two 19-year-old lamebrains dressed up as the World Trade Center - post terror attack - for Halloween. The two girls were seen in giant cardboard boxes made out to be half-burnt falling buildings also won an award and cash prize for best costume. ALL of these aforementioned scenarios could have been prevented, halted, or terminated before reaching their pinnacle of national or local attention - all someone had to do was SPEAK UP and STAND FIRM. These next two are a bit different. 4. A high school in Coachella Valley, California embraces Arabs as their mascot...and this date back to the 1930s. For years the cheerleaders have been belly dancers, and the mascot is a large-nosed, single toothed, bearded Arab man with a menacing grin. 5. President Obama appears on...MSNBC. Need we say more? Amidst a national crisis on healthcare, a rusty economy, plunging approval ratings for himself, his administration and the entire government, the President chooses to go on the opinion channel whom he knew would throw him softballs and not ask anything of substance or any pressing questions allowing him to sputter on and bloviate. No one watched the interview, but everyone aired the clips; ultimately it just raised more eyebrows, questions, and hypocrisies. What about the HUGE News? A. Here you go! Pope Francis embraced a severely disfigured man showing him the healing powers of compassion, and said a prayer for him after kissing the man on his forehead. HUGE Pope. B. A victim of the Boston marathon, Heather Abbott, showed off her new high heels - which were attached to her new prosthetic leg. She preferred shorter skirts before and while shes not sure shell wear them so short again, shes extremely overwhelmed by being a woman again and being able to wear her high ones again. You go girl! C. Someone abandoned a tortoise. Someone found the tortoise. The tortoise was injured, alone, and missing a leg. His rescuers glued a wheel from a Lego set to the bottom of his shell in-place of his leg and named him Schildi. That simple, that HUGE! D. Three fisherman in Alaska found a beached killer whale (Shamu!) on the coast of a small lake. They spent nearly four hours pouring water over the animal until the tide could come in and help her off the rocks. Apparently when the men would stop petting her and splashing her with water, she cried. :-) Thats love, and a HUGE heart. E. Finally, the Olympic torch is in space and floating around the space station thanks to the Russians. These are all things we can learn from folks, judgments should be passed, good and bad. Lets try and spread the good and correct the evil when we can. HUGE hopes youve taken the time. Have a good weekend friends!
