So, incoming essay. I was sitting out front, selfishly enjoying a moments peace and a smoke, while hiding for a brief moment, from my grumpy, over tired little man, and I see two kids walking past, a little boy and a little girl, estimated ages around 10-11 I assume, I try to listen closely to what seemed like a little argument, as the young girl tried to touch his shoulder, which the boy moved away with what seemed disgusted he turned to her, right out front of my house, and yelled at her youre ugly that word, her little face, made me feel horrible, almost completely sick. Ugly. Such a horrible word, and thrown around so quickly, I started to question the innocence of children, when did they lose it? Or more likely, when did we show them differently. I began to doubt, the valuable lessons that mother had taught her son, and at what age, did he learn to stop seeing that little girl, as his friend? Why are we so casual, to teach our children from a young age, that someone can be ugly? It sincerely upsets me, that there are people out there, like that little boy, who have learnt to only see the surface, to turn a blinds eye to a person? A human being? Why are we letting face value be so important, that our children are following our lead? If Zak, ever sincerely called someone something, judge purely by their exterior, then Ill be glad to say, that I failed As a role model. I hope, that the little boy telling that girl, she was ugly, is never my little boy, because the only thing ugly, is the way, we categorise other human beings. UGH RANT OVER!!
