So is the difference between a mutant and Superhero that mutants are born with their powers (those who are human: i.e. NOT Superman, Thor, Wonder woman, etc.) and superheroes get them by some freak accident (i.e. Spiderman, Hulk, etc.).. I know that Mutants were made to Mimic the Civil Rights era (such as Professor X and Magneto representing MLK and Malcolm X, respectively), but I was still having trouble deciphering the difference... Like how Quicksilver and Flash essentially have the same powers but Quicksilver would be discriminated against while Flash would be celebrated in the comic book universe.
