So it goes somewhat like this: There was a long line of boarding passengers at the airport gate for one of the departing flights. As each of the passengers advanced to hand in their plane tickets, a man standing by a large box would approach each individual. The man would reach into the box and pull out a parachute and offer it by saying, Excuse me, but even though you are boarding a short flight, its a flight that could crash an end in a large burning fire. I am offering you a free parachute that will prevent you from ending up in that fire. To this, the majority of the passengers answered, This airline is very secure and if there was a problem, we wouldnt be allowed to board. Anyway, the seats are very cramped as it is and wearing that ridiculous thing would just be unpleasant and uncomfortable, most definitely when we hit air pockets, that thing will just be in my way. To this the man would reply, sometimes the flights can be very pleasant, especially in first class, but the air pockets and turbulence are unavoidable. This parachute is extremely lightweight so you might not even feel it as you wear it, but assuredly I tell you its guaranteed to save you when the plane goes down, and theres no extra charge. Some passengers would shrug off the offer; some would offend the man and call him crazy; some would hesitate and grab the parachute but would not put it on; but some would greatly thank the man, take the parachute, and put it on, some would even take extras for their loves ones. As the plane took off, the man wept for those who declined his offer, but he rejoiced for those who took it, as he put on his rescue gear to meet up with those slowly landing out on a beautiful field away from the flames. Ladies and gentlemen, Jesus Christ is giving you a parachute, even though he doesnt promise that it will be a perfect flight, he definitely promises salvation, and he will personally rescue you. Take the parachute, wear it, and take some to your love ones. John 5:24 - Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
