So it has been a while since I have really really posted, but this is a necessary post. Some may look this post as though Im passing judgement, but before it gets to that point, please understand that I am not. Again,This is not about making anyone feel guilty or anything of the sort. As with any other post geared towards spiritual growth please feel free to contribute anything youd like to it. 1.It is so important for people to stop being so selfish. We need to understand that it is not about us. This life that we live is to be lived for the purpose of glorifying God. We are always so quick to throw someone else under the bus for self gratification. This needs to stop. 2. We need to stop lying to ourselves and others and be realistic about the fact that we have weaknesses and we need to acknowledge what our weaknesses are so that we can begin to work on them and through that work, prayer, faith, *obedience to God, and a willingness to change, we can grow and be transformed into the men and women of God that we have been called to be. In addition, as brothers and sisters in Christ, we should be helping eachother to overcome and get past these struggles opposed to condemning and being cruel. A lot of people want to change but dont know how. So if we can, we need to help them, not hurt them. 3. It is insane of us to keep doing the same things over and over again and expecting different results. Unless these are things that we want to keep happening.. We often times complain about things that keep happening (in school,work,relationships,etc.), when what we need to be doing is examining the why. Why is it that we repeatedly get these same results?.. 4. We often times have a tendency to confuse falling short and deliberately and continuously living in sin. We will all fall short, and thats for sure. But that is not the same as deciding that we should just put our fleshly desires and wants before God and what He says. We can make all of the excuses we want, and say that God knows our hearts, but the truth of the matter is that His Word gives us instruction regarding the matter. We have been instructed to turn away from sin. Period. We have been told that if We love the Lord, we will keep His commandments. Period. We need to decide, either we can be on fire for Jesus, luke warm and rejected, or in the wrong and going in a direction in which no one truly wants to go. 5. We need to be sure that we are treating people in the ways in which we desire to be treated. There is no excuse. If someone disrespects us, we are to pray for them. If they make us angry, we are to pray them. If we dont like someone, we need to pray for them and ourselves. We need not be malicious. We need not be cruel. We need not deal treacherously with others. We should be mindful of what we say and how we say it. We should not lie to people or hurt their feelings just because we know we can. Its not cool. That goes for friends,families,spouses,girlfriends, boyfriends, and acquaintances. If you know that you are not going to do right by someone, kindly remove yourself from their circle. Its that simple. We cannot be both followers of Christ (Loving the Lord more than anything else in the world, including ourselves) and followers of the World. We can only pick one. With that said, who do your actions, words, and choices say you follow? Luke 14 says, The Cost to Follow Jesus 25And there went great multitudes with him: and he turned, and said unto them, 26If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brothers, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. 27And whosoever does not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.
