So it is another brand new school year. The time when we hear,feel sick and tired of stories of teachers walking for hours, crossing rivers, sacrificing their allowances to buy chalk and other school supplies for their students. We will again hear and read stories of overcrowded classrooms, lack of classrooms, classrooms under the trees, rooms along the corridors, rooms lacking ventilation, no decent toilet, lack of teachers and books etc. Until when will we hear these stories, until when?????? Its a cancer that repeats all over again and is getting worse exponentially by time. What is more surprising though is that these news are sensationalized when the school year starts. Bravo!! Have they not done their homework in the past? They are being berated every year, yet it seems that they arent learning. Are they living things? They are not I suppose. They dont have senses. They are naive. As far as I know, before the chromosomes of my parents meet, these were already the issues laid unsolved on the table. I feel for our teachers, parents and students. They should not be treated like this.
