So it is the first snow of the year here in the great state of Oklahoma. This is the time of year when I usually post how people are absolutely losing their minds over minimal snowfall(which they are). But this year I have decided not to do that. Seeing as how not everyone has had the experience driving in the snow that I have had, I am going to help! I have learned a few things driving in the Illinois winters. So...... I am doing two things. 1. I will offer private driving lessons to any of my friends who wish to improve their snow driving skills. 2. I will offer tips to drivers who are not used to driving in attempt to make it a little safer for people like me who know what they are doing. Tip #1: The brake pedal is your enemy. You can pretty much plan on slipping all over the road when you slam on the brake. Tap the break! Lightly. Downshifting is helpful too. Let the transmission slow you down. Not the brakes.
