So, it turns out that private health care is not always what its cracked up to be. Seems the only difference is that you get seen quicker but the doctors are the same as NHS. Went to private knee specialist last year at BMI in cavell drive. He says I have fluid in my left knee and there is nothing he can do. This problem persists and now Im in a lot of pain and at times limited movement of my knee and I find it hard to get motion back into my knee if Im sitting in one position for a long time or after I wake up from a long sleep. I visit my GP at Abernathy house surgery, he tells me point blank its not fluid (just by touching my knee) but suspects torn cartilage and orders me another MRI urgently due to nature of my job. He calls me yesterday (on a Saturday) top man doc. Tells me its not torn cartilage but Ive suffered severe trauma to my ACL - anterior cruciate ligament. No surgery required but intense physio needed with quad strengthening exercises. A brace would be a last resort. Now thats what I call service. The NHS is not all that bad guys and we are lucky in this country to have it, as other countries do not and you have to pay through the nose for it.
