So it was 9 years ago tonight that I first met my wife Cathy. We had met on Match 10 days earlier and finally agreed to meet face to face. We met at the Flying Saucer at the Little Rock River Market for a beer, then decided to go for dinner at Brave New Restaurant....and yes, we did kiss on the first date. I had tried the online dating thing for awhile, but became disappointed because so many people misrepresented themselves on their profiles. At one point, I wrote another version of my profile that could be described as a smart-ass satirical profile entitled, "To All Women Over 100 Who Truly Think They Understand Men." My Match account finally expired, but one day after several months I went back to the website, and there she was! I reactivated my account specifically to try to meet her, not realizing that the satirical version of my profile was turned on. Cathy had just signed on to Match a few days prior and had gotten several hundred responses. When she saw my profile, the feisty redhead decided, "I just have to respond to this smart ass." She indeed responded, and the rest is history. They say things happen for a reason...whatever. All I know is that we would have never crossed paths in a million years had it not been for Match and my offbeat profile. Meeting her has changed my life forever. She is the very best friend I have ever had and the most intelligent person I have ever known. She spoils me rotten and I do my very best to reciprocate. The joy she brings to my heart has made me love her with all of my being. She is truly one of a kind! Much thanks to Match and all my deepest love to my wife Cathy! I LOVE YOU, BABY DOLL!
