So its Monday morning, and this hangover is probably the worst Ive ever had. I wont be like Cowboy haters or Lions fans acting like it all came down to that play, but anyone in their right mind saw Dez control the ball and stretch for the end zone. If that doesnt constitute a football move, I dont know what does. Ill admit, the Cowboys had plenty of opportunities; the missed field goal, and allowing the Packers to get one of their own (although another BLOWN call helped their cause, see https://vine.co/v/ODZBIg1dV9I), the Murray fumble, not covering the fumble on the kickoff, a couple questionable 3rd and 1 calls, on and on. They had their chances, and frankly Aaron Rodgers and the Packers came up with two huge drives down the stretch to win that game. Whats tough to handle is, in sports, you ask your guys to overcome. Overcome the refs, overcome mistakes, penalties, missed opportunities, etc. Overcome, and go make a play. Dez Bryant did that, and it was taken away. To make matters worse, Dean Blandino (VP of officials) claimed in his explanation that he and Steratore, in their judgement, didnt feel as if Dez was reaching for the end zone, but his momentum caused his arm to go forward. And, had he reached out, that wouldve constituted a football move. Yet, Gene Steratore, in his explanation said, when he reached out the ball hit the ground and came loose. So which was it? Did he reach, or didnt he? If you ask me, this was Blandinos opportunity to even the score after last weeks blunder. After all, he was the one rushing to announce the referees errors in the Lions game. No, this game wasnt fixed. Im not saying that it was. But I do feel that this was the leagues opportunity for makeup call, and they took it. In ways, it a 50/50 call, and it went against the Boys. Take it for what its worth. Cowboy haters will disagree and swear till the end that it was clear that he didnt complete the process. Truth be told, you and me couldnt have done that, but that doesnt mean an athlete of Dez Bryants stature couldnt and didnt (Cowboy fans should read this bit.ly/1sqP3c6 ). It is what it is. The Cowboys lost, and the Packers will play Seattle for the NFC championship. No matter how it could have happened, it wouldve been a bitter end to such a sweet season. But the way it happened, seems, at this point, like the worst possible way it couldve gone down. Itll take time to get over this one, and I guarantee you this will be the straw that breaks the camels back to finally get this rule changed. It wont mean anything to us at that point, but at least it wont happen again. I guess. Again, we had our opportunities, the Cowboys couldve made it to where it didnt come down to that final play. Unfortunately, for us, it did. Again, it was far from being the only reason, but boy would things have been different with the ball at the 1/2 yard line. Then again, maybe it wouldnt have. In any case, well never know. Ill you with this: this was a catch, yet Dez did not complete the process. #WeDemBoyz
