So its been a crazy few days. The night they were going to put him back on the oscillator they did one last blood gas and it had improved a lot so they let him stay on the vent. In fact he keeps improving and they have started turning vent settings down. So I got to hold him again two more times. Just not yesterday my regular nurse was not there but the night nurse let me bathe him and we changed his isolate out since he had been in that one for 34 days. Hard to change when on the oscillator. So new bed looks like the old bed :) clean monsters inc bedding and clean baby Auggie. So what has had me crazy is the recent down has nada to do with Auggies health. The hospital became out of network as of jan 1st..... So not happy about that and I just found out yesterday morning and have been trying to deal with that and figure out if we will have to transfer him to another hospital. And then the people who deal with the Medicare sign ups etc are slow as molasses. I went to push them again today. Sigh. Upside is if we transfer it would be to Dell Childrens which is right across the parking lot from the RMH and Auggie would get a private room etc. oh and got another set of pump parts so I only have to clean the lot twice a day. Sets are 20 dollars ugh but the headache it saves is worth it.
