So ladies; we have a great question from Melanie Bawcum King: Does anyone else have issues with customers not wanting to take you seriously as a woman? My husband and I both run our business, and while I handle all of the billing and office duties, I also price calls and run trucks. However, I get a LOT of calls where someone is asking for my husband, who is usually never in because hes in a truck. Today it was someone who came into the office. When I tell them hes not in and ask if I can help them, they say no, just have him call me, or no Ill call back later. If I am able to manage to get them to tell me what it is they need, and I price it or tell them no, its something we cant do, then they call him anyway. Drives me INSANE! Example, today I am in the office because our dispatcher needed to be off, and a guy comes in and asks if my husband is here. I tell him no, hes in a truck. He asks for and takes a business card. I ask if there is something I can help him with, and he says No, I just need to ask him a question. I ask if I can answer his question, and he tells me no, he just has a motor home he wants the front of to be lifted up so he can do some maintenance on and wants to know if my husband would be interested in it. I ask how much it weighs, and he says he doesnt know, but its a Winnebago and it is 30+ feet long. I tell him that our truck isnt big enough to do such, much less the liability of lifting it and having someone underneath it, and that its not something we can do. His response: Ok, Ill give (my hubby) a call in a little bit. !@#$%&*^! So.... do you lady towers out there get the same? I know I sure do! ~tennille (thank you Melanie)
