So...last night I had a great ride...even through the scary corner! Yay!! Im so thrilled with all the advice Ive received here. Thanks! Briefly....the night before I lunged up and down that half of the arena (other side was wet anyway) with small circles (15M) ending in each corner after a good circle in the corner. Then the clicker sound, then a treat (assuming he was good). Next day (last night) I rode in a lesson...kept relaxed, talking to the instructor through the corner, bending through the corner, looking beyond the corner, and ultimately finishing my ride in the corner with a click and a treat. She told me to bend and send which I liked:). Thanks Tina Steward!! I wouldnt say we are ready to go sailing through on a loose rein, but it was definitively better. I will add 3 things...1. Hes just coming back to work. 2. I will soon add the cavelletti work 3. Kathy Young your comment about floaters in the eye explained a lot! My previous mare had those and she was the one who started the scary corner problem. I think she then trained me to worry about it which has translated to other rides...especially on my sensitive, smart pony. All in all...thanks so much everyone!!!
