So last night I was getting gas and I somehow tripped over something and fell DIRECTLY on top of my right knee. To add insult to injury (no pun intended.... I think), there was a man pumping gas in his car DIRECTLY behind mine by like 5 steps who saw me fall..... and said nothing. (insert choice words!) I wasnt looking for a proposal or anything, just a simple are you OK? would have been a kind gesture! But dont get me going on that...... My knee is pretty sore today. Walking is OK, but any sort of twists or variations in movement..... soreness or pain. I want to be smart about it because Ive not had the best of knees to begin with going all the way back to injuries during sports when I was younger. Losing weight over the years has DEFINITELY helped my knees and will continue to as I lose more and more weight, but I still want to be careful. So, this week Im truly going back to basics with my fitness. I wont let this little slip n fall keep me inactive, but I will go back to where it all began for me..... Walking. Yep! Sure, I love some intense workouts/calorie burns like the rest of them but walking is what got me started and its like the friend thats always there in time of need. If I had to give anyone advice on where to start or restart with their fitness, Id say..... start walking. Because its movement and its intentional and its going to help improve your health. So while I let my knee get a little better this week and make sure not to injure it anymore than it already is..... this chick is walking. And I guarantee its going to do my body good. :) Whos walking with me?? Who will get in at least ONE walk this week?? I promise you it will do your body and mind good!
