So last night, the men and women of the Royal Canadian Marine - TopicsExpress

So last night, the men and women of the Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue Station 37, Sooke, relieved a tow from a local tugboat. This wasnt the usual pleasure craft or commercial fishing vessel. This was a 65 long by 40 wide rectangular house. Thats right. Station 37 received their own boathouse last night and the two crews flawlessly towed the vessel into Park Isle Marina which is located just west of Sooke. The entrance to this marina is very narrow and shallow (6.5 feet at high tide) From approximately 1/2 nautical mile from the marina, Coxswain Paul Barrett rigged a double-legged bridle from the MK7 RHIB and connected it to this house with no cleats and entered the marina. Once inside, under the cloak of darkness and rain, he slowly turned the boathouse 180 degrees while the second Coxswain, Jason van der Valk, who Commanded the Spirit of Sooke, connected and slowly pulled it to the dock. Without the coordination and expertise of the two boat crews, this operation could not have been accomplished. Our next step is to tow this boathouse out of Park Isle Marina and through the narrows and tidal currents of Sooke harbour. I have full confidence in the crew that this next mission will be performed admirably. Bravo Zulu Britton Jacob-Schram Chris Danylchuk and the others who accomplished this mission.
