So lets update my status. Starting Monday, August 18th, Ill be a full-time student at Copiah-Lincoln Community College, with classes running Mon-Fri, 8-am-12-pm; Ill also be working full-time at Walmart Distribution Center; Tues-Fri, 3-pm-2-am. Frankie will be joining our party in October, requiring what little time Ill have to sleep between work and school to be allotted to relieving Nikki Ashley so that she may rest. Not-accounting for any assignments I may have for school, my free time will start on Saturday mornings at 2-am when I clock-out at work, slugging through whatever responsibilities I can Saturday afternoon and Sunday, and finally ending at 8-am Monday, when I step back into the classroom to start a new week. Totally, roughly, 53 hours a week. All of this has been grinding on my mind since I pulled into Co-Lin to fill out my application earlier this year, but the anxiety seems to be intensifying. I am not excited about spending literally every waking moment during the week away from Nikki, Ryleigh, and especially Frankie--after Ive waited so patiently to meet her!-- for the extent of the school year. It will be stressful. Were something to happen at home I would be at least a half hour away at any time of the day. I am forbidden to have my phone at school and work(though Ill be checking it as much as possible, regardless). I will not be there to help as much as Id like to be, or be apart of special occasions. All this for two, maybe even four years. Will it all be worth it? Im certain. Thats the only reason Id put myself, and my most-important people through it. Though its only community college, for a 2-bit trade, I am proud that Im pursuing my goals; letting my ambition flourish. It means better opportunities for employment, thus better standard of living. I can provide a better life for my wife and girls, build a foundation to leave for them when Im gone, and live more comfortably in the meantime. Feeling stressed but motivated. Stretched, but strengthened. All the thanks go to my parents, in-laws and especially Nikki and Ryleigh for keeping my morale up. That about wraps up my ramble. Status: successfully updated.
