So long for now, Thomas my dear friend. I could not let you suffer. It was a promise we made to each other all those years ago. We loved you well and you returned that love a hundred times over. God gives animals the ability to feel and give love, to express joy, to grieve, to console and to care. I choose to believe that Thomas will be there in Heaven waiting for me, one day down the road. Pray for Thomas. Pray for me. I loved him with all my heart. All things bright and beautiful. All creatures great and small. All things wise and wonderful. The Lord God made them all.
