So many folks are so bent out of shape about this border issue and Illegal immigrants. I realize my position is that of the minority. I am a Christian libertarian and Im 100% for open borders and Ill state my case why. Many of the folks who I see and/ or have talked to are strongly opposed to open borders because they believe they want free healthcare, they want free education, they want free food, they believe that these good people south of the border simple want handouts and are willing to throw around blanket-statements in an attempt to justify their position. Ive worked with and seen productive value that Mexicans have to offer. They are some HARD working folks. If youre worried about a Mexican taking your job than maybe you should bump your work-performance up a notch, because in reality, ANYONE can take your job if youre performance is lack-luster. Let me say that I think Ron Paul was for open border, I dont know if he ever publicly admitted that, but his whole point behind the immigration issues was to eliminate the those incentives that allegedly attract people into the U.S (incentives being free health-care, education, food, etc - although we know its really not free). Let me also say that if you are for a free society and a free market and youre not in favor of open borders then your not consistent with your principles. The Federal Govt has no business giving out handouts and most of know this. If the States want to give out free hands to Americans or non-Americans, that is their call. Yes I realize that democrats like Pelosi and even some Republicans want are in favor of amnesty and maybe even open borders - its likely because they want to leverage that demographic to continue to push their socialist/ communist agenda. Now from a Christian perspective: Should a Christian be pro-borders or anti-borders? What What Jesus Do? Christians know that we are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy [spiritual] nation. We know that our citizenship is in heaven. We also (should) know, that the entire purpose of the Christian is to seek and save the lost, to evangelize and plant seeds that will hopefully win people to Christ. Should Christians really fear undocumented individuals trying to make a living and support themselves &/or their families? Would it not be a good opportunity to reach out to these people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ? It does seem that many folks who self-describe as Christians are stagnant and complacent and the the title doesnt match their actions - and many folks do not evangelize, not to their families, neighbors etc. It really bothers me have politicians, the media, organizations and individuals try and demonize Mexians or South Americans who want to try and live and flourish in the U.S. Its like these haters demonize them like they are part of Al Qaeda or something. Anyways, Just thought Id share my perspective. I welcome your thoughts below as well. Bring the hate. Just try not to let your emotions override your logic. Peace, Freedom and Prosperity FOR ALL!
