So many of society’s problems could be easily fixed. Take Social Security. Remove the income cap. Fixed. The problem is that the ultra rich don’t want to pay their way. They want to take advantage of all that our society offers them in terms gaining wealth and they don’t want to contribute their part to keep it all going. THEY are the freeloaders, not the poor. In addition, they are NOT “job creators,” except maybe for robots and slave laborers in foreign labor markets. Employers once sought people to work full time at jobs with good pay and benefits with the hope that they would stay for years and grow in their skills which would advance the company. Now many seek part-timers for poor pay and no benefits who will do narrowly defined tasks and who can be easily replaced after they have stayed long enough to deserve raises. It makes for shoddy products and poor service but it keeps profits high. This country needs to wake up, fast. Society needs to be restructured. It doesn’t have to be radical. Countries like Germany are way ahead of us.
