So many thoughtful posts about depression and people sharing their experiences. Now clinical depression is no doubt a different animal and not what Im referring to here. But there is also a lot of reference to something I would call more of an affluence depression. More like the expectations of being successful and being happy and yet feeling empty. I am so grateful for my in a deep funk phase of life a few years back, my willingness to dive and explore that (was not pretty), and my inner wisdom that got me on a plane as a paying volunteer in northern Nicaragua for six months. So, if you are feeling some loss of direction, life transition, and a bit of a pity party happening, I highly recommend looking to what you can GIVE and letting your heart break open some in that exchange. It could be as good remedy for what ails you on a daily basis for in the good ol US of A.
