So many were taken by the conniving senators and, indeed, atty roy was jacked up the wall to hide the shameful conspiracy or keep it from being taken seriously by the unsuspecting public.i am amazed pnoy later turned his guns on those he directly enlisted to sack corona. in the mafia, at least there is omerta and nobody plays self-righteous. they just settle scores the old fashioned way. for the presidency and 20 senators to sink so low together boggles the mind. but then again, there is a precedent:elpidio quirino, the lopez press and his obedient senators turned on another senate president, avelino, whom they nailed for that infamous quip, why are we in power for?, said in malacanang in a party caucus convened by quirino himself, an attitude and a modus operandi applicable to all of them, but avelino took the rap. incidentally, the gang reconciled (they were always in cahoots but just got carried away by partisan squabbles) and the poor guy quietly got retirement bonus.
