So maybe you have heard about the embarrassing news about how a bully government is going to ram-rod a bunch of bullshit laws to outlaw Grapes in Malibu? They hope to pass the law next week - just before anyone can do anything about it... Here is the status: Good afternoon, 1. INTRODUCTION. Our efforts are paying off! The public is beginning to realize that the ban on new vineyards in the Santa Monica Mountains will have an adverse effect on County of Los Angeles. Several recent news stories highlight this growing concern as set forth below. We need to keep building this momentum! a. Now, is the time to call our county supervisors and let them know that you oppose the ban on new vineyards. b. Now, is the time to sign, stamp, and mail your letters to our county supervisors that bring home the importance of viticulture in the Santa Monica Mountains to the County of Los Angeles. c. Now, is the time to email the Board of Supervisors and ask that they promote prosperity for our county by eliminating this shortsighted ban on new vineyards. 2. BREAKING NEWS. Since August 18, 2014, there have been no less than five news stories regarding the ban on new vineyards. a. Fox 11 News. Phone calls are a quick and easy way to let our supervisors know that we oppose the ban on new vineyards. Note: Parking is available at Cathedral of our Lady of the Angels (Los Angeles Cathedral) at 555 West Temple Street, Los Angles CA, 90012. Public opinion at this hearing will prevail upon the Board. Thus, we need you to attend this hearing in order to register your opposition to the ban on new vineyards. Your voice will have an impact and will encourage the Board eliminate the ban on new vineyards from the Local Coastal Program.
