So more of an update on Jack. Doctors, nurses, and lactation consult are all working with Robyn, Kyle and Jack right now to find just the right for for him as far as nursing and bottle feeding goes. Bottle feeding makes him vomit because he drinks it too quickly. They tried a premie nipple but its just slightly better that way. Nursing he does great but doesnt always get everything he needs in before his 30 mins are up so the rest goes down his feeding tube. He is also started to fall asleep while nursing so theyre trying to find different things that keep Jack awake enough to feed. They are nursing quite a bit now but also bottle feeding since he does need so many extra calories and they can fortify Robyns already high calorie milk. But again the bottle he vomits with. So theres still some tweaking and moving around to do but I know everyone involved will eventually get it :) I still cant believe Jack has been able to nurse so well and so quickly after being introduced to it after everything hes been through. Being able to nurse was one of Robyns biggest desires, and shes finally able to do it :) The doctors do want to try to get him off of oxygen in the next few days but did say Jack may need to go home with it for a while. Hopefully as he continues to heal and grow quickly so he can come off the oxygen soon.
