So more often than normal, Ive been asked what constitutes s Meeple? The story behind it, and what is the ultimate meeple... well heres my story... As boisterous, out-going, extroverted and sometimes scandalous as I am now, the majority of my childhood was introverted, shy, and a little sad with how much emphasis i had with an imaginary world that constituted two main characters... Gizmo and Pooh Bear. The true original Meeples.... Awkward and a little lonely I suppose, I used to walk through the forests behind my parents house holding my moms hand calling out for Pooh Bear!!! Pooh Bear where are you???? With a little cup of peanut butter and honey, and although it might have been adorable or cute to my mother, I was genuinely concerned for an alone and cold pooh bear being stranded out in the woods with nobody to take care of him. Forever never finding Pooh Bear.... :/ And as for Gizmo, a teddy I had, that I related to more than anyone probably comprehended. Was my lifeline, I constantly feared for his well being. Constantly picked on by the other gremlins, Gizmo, who was fragile but determined, just kept being Gizmo. And I carried him everywhere. :) The original Meeples... everybody has their own version of their own original Meeple. Its an idea. Its a collective love of all thats beautiful, adorable and particularly helpless... thats why we love them, cause... we... want to help them.
