So most of you are probably wondering...why is he posting a 60 year old photo of a dog. Well, this dog has a Branson story. Unfortunately, I cant remember his name (although Boots comes to mind) but I do remember the story that my dad and grandfather told me about him. My grandfather was Chris Meadows and he was worked, owned and operated the Sammy Lane Boat Line for many years. He lived in the two story rock house that was across the street from the Boat Line that many of you member. It was demolished with everything else to make way for the Landing...but I digress. My grandfather owned the pictured dog, which he kept outside in a pen in the back of the house. Apparently, the dog would sneak under the fence at night and make his way over to the bar that most of you used to know as the Fishermans Roost (not sure of the name at the time) where he proceeded to get patrons to give him beer and get him drunk. He would stumble back home and in the morning my grandpa would be confused as to why the dog would be so groggy and out of it (doggie hangover). Quite a few months went by before someone finally let my grandpa in on the secret. Grandpa kept trying to fix the fence, but the dog just kept making his way back to the bar to get hammered. So, I was hoping that someone on here might remember the dog or maybe one of you was helping to get him liquored up?
