So much even in our Christian culture is this thing that we value gifting rather than character. So the pressure is to be the cool or clever or great preacher or the great whatever, but I would say that your ministry comes out of your life. And you might get this edge up or realize theres this path you can take to ascend this path to greatness because of your gift, but your long-lasting gift that you give to the world is how you carry yourself and your life, and how you treat your family. Its when youre rolling around on the floor with your kids, hearing their laughter, and its night after night because youre not at work till 10 at night. He uses all that to wash your soul with their laughter. And that makes you whole, and balanced so youre a lot stronger and youve got more to say, and more credibility and conviction because youre whole. Not because youre witty and youre clever and you came up with a great sermon. Its your life that speaks; not just your sermon.
