So my beautiful bride made it quite clear that this weekend was being set aside as a date weekend. After all the last while has been with some challenges, so a date weekend it is. Last night we headed off to Rocky Mtn House for a private veiwing of an amazing state of art wood stove and a several different hot tubs. Technology has sure made strides. Anyway I digress. With some choices to make we cruised around west central Alberta and found a great little hide away cafe and chowed down on some great food. Drove on about 30 minutes and dropped in on Randy McGhee and Marcel Gour out at the Lazy M Ranch. Great visit. Driving home gave us a romantic view of the Lightning storm to the East. Ends day one date evening. Well not quite but thats all I can post. Saturday starts a little late, sleeping in does that. Got to the farmers market by 11:00 met friends and chowed down on Market food. Checking out a couple of garage sales, tea and the sort some how lead to stopping at a hardware store. I think thats where the first mistake happened on date weekend. Next thing I know the Honey do list is wide open. We spent the rest of the day cleaning eve-troughs, moving wood and preparing by hand over 700 lbs of concrete and hand bombing into the basement to finish a year old project. Ouch A little concerned what tomorrow will bring. Not so much the list, just whether or not I will actually be able to move. Upon reflection I see the similarities on dating 30 years ago and now. 30 years we played hard parting and dancing,hurting a little the next day. Anyway it really doesnt matter what the day the brings, spending it with my Bride is what makes it perfect. A little scotch and off to bed. Gnite
