So my brother in-law sent me this and thanked me for my service...it really choked me up...I have lots of respect for my brother in-law (Kurt)...for those of you that dont know I am now Retired as of last month. .. and Im very thankful for what the military has done for me and my family... I joined the USMC on January 31, 1994 and in all these yrs I never served overseas and there for i feel my military career is not really complete... my name never came up and when it did a few yrs ago again due to unfortunate injuries during our deployment training I was held back I even tried to lie so that I could get on that plane with the guys that I trained with for several months but no cigar.... I guess in a way I was relieved that I was staying home but deep down inside I truly was upset and hard on myself...till this day actually, , the deployment to Afghanistan for the guys was tough many trials and tribulations came upon them injuries and one of them didnt come home... I have seen so much change in those that came back and I personally felt that I was no longer part of them I felt that I was the outsider. Only those in the military know where Im coming from or what I mean. So although I have served faithfully for 17 and half yrs (medically retired) I just dont feel that I did my part.. I wish I had crossed that pond to do my part. So with that being said I dedicate this song to all Veteran some have done well after deployments and some still struggle....Semper FI and HOOAH! HAPPY VETERANS DAY and thank you past present and future...
