So....my employer of 26+ years, the USPS, is bumping me...again. In order to keep my career (benefits etc) status I have to go to a larger office. So instead of heading east to Kasota, starting tomorrow, Ill be traveling north to Lester Prairie. (I hear its somewhere near Canada :) ) Yes, seriously, NOT excited about the 45-mile drive, yet know I am being a big baby as many others have had long commutes for years. And frankly its only 5 stop signs on county roads, no traffic congestion! Love working with (more) people, just not so excited about managing more people. Also uncomfortable not being very accessible for my (aging) parents, wrong direction and likely long work days. Then again I was hesitant about my move to Kasota--24 miles one way for the last 14 mos, (formerly spoiled going to Lafayette 5 miles for 20 years)....but ended up really liking it, so who knows. My rural carrier there gave me the sweetest thank you compliment, he said I was a kick a$$ supervisor, his best yet, easy going yet we got **** done. :) Gonna miss him and many customers! So heres to teaching an old dog new tricks-again! Cheers!
