So my facebook friends and family - I was getting on the bus yesterday. At the bus stop was a single mom who had a lil boy about Olivers age. The mom had a stroller as well for lil guy. So when we boarded the bus I carried lil guy on while the mom schlepped the stroller on. Now I have seen this young family a few times so this wasnt random. Soooo...I sit next to the lil guy and mom sits in the seat next to us w/ the stroller. Behind the mom was a gentleman.....who saw my interactions with lil man. He then says, Wow you must really love that little boy. I said, I love all small children they are great! What he said and asked next I was not prepared for......He says, I have a friend who needs someone to take his kids so they dont go to social services ...and you are just the type of person that would be best for these kids. I was wondering if I could talk to you more about this...(allegedly there are three of them). Now lets stop the story there.....A few things come to mind.....Bear with me folks....Number One...This man has made the judgment call that because I was nice to this little boy...that somehow I have a NEED for MORE children in my life that ARENT mine. Secondly, he just asked a COMPLETE stranger to take his friends kids..he has no IDEA how many crack pipes I may or may not have laying around the house. Now lets just play w/ the idea that I DO decide to take these children...walk with me a minute.... Here is how this would go down. I take the three kids....take care of them. A knock on the door ..its the police! These children were abducted...and now in my care. IM IN TROUBLE! So the last observation and thought was....He smelled like weed....and my thought is...He might NOT be the BEST decision maker in the world. ......So that my friends is a big portion of the story...What would you have said???
