So, my mom is quite sick with an awful cold/virus/ear infection/whatever. Shes trying to emulate me, having coughing fits that leave her doubled over, breathless, with tears squeezed out of her eyes (not from crying, just from the natural exertion/reaction of the process because of the pressure in your FACE). It isnt fun. Shes seen me have them often enough, and I told her they are not fun, but did she listen? No......she insists I am not the boss of her. But instead of gathering up essential oils, reikis, or trying to balance her chakras, and whatever other woo bullshit people want to peddle, I hauled her to the doc for some modern medicine: a zpack and some hydromet syrup for the cough. Good thing we had thanksgiving at the ranch on Sunday, because she isnt going anywhere for the next few days. And, after dropping her off and heading out to pick up her meds, I beat the heavy part of the storm home by about ten minutes! Maybe today will be a turnaround day after all.
