So next thing after I get the Windows 8 desktop back (it had a fault) is to upgrade the old desktop from XP to Ubuntu... anyone done that? Seems to be the cheapest option of using that old box and the old hard drives (incompatible with our new motherboard and box) - it has 4GB RAM but would only be capable of 32bit. The main drive is already partitioned, so I can install Ubuntu without removing XP.
