So not much has changed in Chile. The rights to Chiles water are privatised, causing its cost to spike despite its abundance. Because it is privately owned, people cannot use or drink water even if it flows through their own property. With our present government, privatising the water supply here is a possibility because it fits their agenda of handing over utilities into private ownership - and with the same result as Chile: the rich will get richer while the rest of us pay up or, in this case, die of thirst.
