So now that everything has settled a little, as the good little - TopicsExpress

So now that everything has settled a little, as the good little LARPers, plot-ites and NPC-peoples emerge blinking into the bright sunlight of their post LARP comas, Id like to take this chance to say thanks to everyone. This season has been so much fun in a multitude of ways. The game has seen some great growth and weve attracted some really amazing new players, and our old players continue to kick ass and take names. Every time I come to an event I interact with more people that cause the back of my skull to explode with awesomeness, and everyone does a great job about making every event just so much fun. Its getting hard to explain to someone whos never been how awesome this game is, because Ive got so many stories that theyll fall asleep before I even begin to get to get close to running out. But on to some specific thank yous, starting with our awesome NPC crew. Im probably going to forget some names, but thats more LARP coma than anything else, but thanks so much to the following for being awesome, Kristina, Blaine, Amy, Brian, Mark, Nigel, Malcolm, Kristen, Sámr, Jordan, Melissa, Gabrielle, Libby, Kim and anyone else who helped us out (if I forgot you it was only because Im tired, LMK and Ill throw you up here). If you run, fought, or hid at all this season, you interacted with one of our awesome NPC crew who would work themselves into the ground to provide fun for everyone, and each and every one of them was always ready to go and go hard with every mod, from the most crunchy of crunchy to abstract RP mods that we threw at them at the last minute. They took everything we made and put their heart and soul into it and made it that much mroe awesome and special. We gave out NPC awards but in reality we couldnt possibly reward these guys enough for the work they do because honstly, we could give out two or three a game and still not hit everyone. Secondly, Id like to thank my fellow shaper Jacob Smith. I have to say I learned a lot from the guy as to how to run and balance mods, and especially how to run a storyline. His mods were always impeccably grounded in his storyline and he kept so many threads, ideas and concepts lucid and understandable that it was a feat in itself. The Dark Elves had depth, breadth and so much background that it was fun just going out on his mods because you really felt like the Deep Dark was a thing that existed, and was filled by this wonderful culture of warring houses and cultures. Plus Kobolds are just the most fun ever, and never has it been more fun to be hated than when youre a gnome throwing illusion magics. Jacob was an awesome partner, and Ill miss our late-night inspiration fests so you PCs better enjoy him, lest I snatch him away for more plot evilness again. Id also like to thank our support group as Shapers, the guildmasters Derrick and Jason, our Log Mistress Amber and our log crew of Robert, Lisa, Melissa and Nigel for keeping us on track, and our simultaneously terrifying and bubbly head of plot Erin. There is a really great support structure there for Shapers and NPCs, and they all did yeomans work to make sure that mods were done, storylines lined up, and the game flowed properly. If Shapers and Plot provide the pretty pictures that line the walls of the Underworld house, then the guildmasters and log crew are the walls that keep the place upright, the grease for the gears and the wise masters whose wisdom is to be consulted. That analogy sort of got away from me there a bit, but you get the idea. PEOPLE = AWESOME. Almost lastly, Id like to welcome with open arms our new masters of evil, to plot and torment alongside me: Nigel, Blaine and Bryce. I am so excited about working with these three gentlemen and creating something truly awesome, terryfing, awesome, and wonderful. Bryce I know is going to bring an awesome human element and the same strong characterization that Talom brings to the party, plus yall killed his kid so your pretty much F*CKED. Blaine is the mad genius behind the dichotomies of the horrifying good Bastion and the terrifyingly evil Alexander, and his ideas are only exceeded by his capacity of treachery so I cant see that being anything but awesome. Nigel is an NPC so devious and terrifying that hes scary to encounter even when youre an NPC too. The Krampus wouldnt be nearly as terrifying without him piloting it. Those three men form a trifecta of evil so potent that night cannot escape from its gravity. Oh, and did I mention that weve still got Kate Smear-Blood-On-Your-Friends-and-Cannabalize-Your-Corpse Cooper handling personal plot? Awesome. This next season is going to be so bonkers, and I for one just cant wait. Anyways, thats my long winding thank you, which I made you read through to get to the review, so Ill make this short and sweet. Click the link below to get to the review to tell us what was good and what was bad about the event. Ive included an extra bit about the season as well, and any feedback you can give to us would be awesome. I religiously read all of your reviews and it really does help us make the game better, so get on it.
