So now we know the contest to look forward to in the presidential election come 2015. Johnathan/Sambo v Buhari/Osibanjo. I am surprised and not surprised at Osibanjos selection to be Buharis running. Surprised because i thought the governors would have applied far more pressure into the position being given to one of them. Not surprised because knowing Tinubu, he will eventually make a compromise that is mainly to his own benefit. He obviously backed out from the race to avoid the muslim/muslim ticket perception that the PDP created to avoid the APC producing a far more formidable opposition. Ive got information from a source (reliable or non-reliable) that if not for the muslim/muslim higgi hagga, it wouldve been either Tinubu or Fashola or Amosun running with Buhari. Tinubu being a master mind used that to his advantage and placed Prof. Osibanjo, his own man, as the running mate. Buhari, as an ageing man who is running out of time, had to accept in order to have Tinubus full and undivided support. Well personally Prof. Osibanjo wont have been my choice. But not withstanding the poilitics and reasons behind his decision I feel he is one who can compliment Buhari in his drive towards a better and more disciplined country. I do pray and hope they not just win but they both rebuild this country and set it in the right path towards progress.
