So often with night photography Ill average multiple images together to reduce noise. And there have been times when Ive added images together in pairs, especially when revisiting old star trails shots that didnt have enough foreground light. Ive gotten some very good, printable results before, but in this case it just didnt work out... but its still kind of cool. This is 32 images added together, and the rings are some artifact of the lens, magnified to an intense degree! Ive seen these rings with a couple other similar attempts, so theyre definitely a lens artifact, but Ive never pushed them to this degree. Oh, well - I might just have to take another crack at the pothole star trails concept. The second photo is the best I could pull out of it (with some light painting and no adding of images).
