So on our last trip to the Asian Grocer I saw G wander off for a sec... He walked off to the tufo aisle. He was staring at row upon row of all the different brands and types, with a look of awe and almost fear on his face. I was not too far behind him choosing some vegetables whose name I do not know in English. He hesitantly picked one up and promptly set it back in its place, then chose another and turned to show me. He looked so cute in a way a little kid looks when he is looking to ask someone for permission to do something that he really, really wants. He had chosen a snack sized box of peach flavored silken tofu and said that he had never tried tofu and asked if he could try it. Of course, I said yes. He waited til we got home and had supper (Jamaican jerk spiced ribs) to try the tofu. I am not sure if he really liked it or not but I am pretty sure he was thinking it was going to be sweeter than it turned out to be. I told him it would have a texture somewhere between yoghurt and custard, a good stepping stone towards firmer tofu for a stirfry...someday.
