So once again I find myself under the weather with a sinus infection and a cocktail of amoxicillin and sudafed. The perfect companion to watch the new Crossbones made excellent by Julian Sands first and foremost, and of course, John Malkovich. Of course there are mixed reviews because the show has excellent actors and actually had the gall to write a script where these two superb actors can do just that. Given their expressions and expressive speech listening to them is a pleasure. Unlike the glitzy Black Sails which I suffered through the first episode which was sophomoric and vapid on a bed of so so acting that nowhere matched its cinematography, Crossbones is a thespian delight. I was drawn in from the start and I am not particularly fond of pirates and because it is a quality show it will probably be cancelled. My dvr will continue to record it for as long as it survives.
