So one of the happiest moments of my life happened today. Totally out of the blue and without warning, our Toby walked, without his walker!!! I had to leave the kids with mum and dad for a while today and when I arrived back they told me that Toby had taken a couple of steps on his own – he had pulled himself up against the lounge, turned around, taken a couple of steps and then fell down. I couldn’t believe it, and that I’d missed it! He must have heard us talking about it and he went over to a coffee table, pulled himself up, turned around and then just walked for about 2 metres! We couldn’t believe it. You should have seen the tears, laughter, cuddles!!!! I don’t think I’ve ever even seen Toby so happy. He was laughing and looking so proud of himself. As soon as I let him go from the cuddles he was right back over and doing it again. He had many tries, some better than others. I managed to capture a good walk but typical to this type of thing, didn’t get his longest and best effort on video. But I have attached a great clip with his big sister Kasey. This is so much better than we had been led to expect at this stage for Toby. We are the proudest mum and dad!!! Westmead childrens hospital has a wishing pond. Most times we walk past Kasey has 2 coins for wishes. She always tells us her first wish is that Tobys legs will get better so he can walk. Good wishing Kasey!!
