So our current Governor in Ohio is John Kasich; stand up swell guy if you ask me. Want to know some of the things hes gotten done while he was the Governor of our great state? tl;dr, hes a terrible person and unless youre rich, hes working against your self interest. 1. Hes anti-climate change (through actions). Passed legislation effectively freezing clean energy policies in Ohio. This effectively froze any development of Solar or Wind energy in Ohio. Did you know theres an estimated 50,000 MW of potential wind energy in the state. Thats 98% of Ohios energy. And global climate change (warming?) is a thing right? 2. Hes corrupt. When he got elected in 2010, he disbanded the state run job development board and created JobsOhio, a nonprofit in its stead. Why do you ask? Because nonprofits dont have to disclose ethics information. He then lined the board of directors with his campaign donors and they sat back and pocketed $7 million in donations. Thats super nonprofit for you there. 3. Hes anti-Union. And I understand a health skepticism for collections of people who want more power, but did you know that Ohio (cinci at least) is having a problem paying its employees pensions? You know that OPERS money that gets sucked out of your paycheck every payday? Thats your pension. Imagine paying into that your whole life and then getting told yeah we lost the money we were holding onto for you.. 4. Hes against womens rights, civil rights and marriage equality. Hes put in place some pretty serious voting restrictions to keep people from being able to get out to the polls. Did you know a study found that voter fraud was a 31 in a billion occurrence? Source in the comments. 5. Again w/ the environment, ugh. You hear about the toxic algal blooms in Toledo? Turns out weve known about that issue for a long time. We also know what causes it and how to keep it from happening so badly. Guess who tabled legislation to fix the problem ( phosphorus runoffs from farmer irrigation)? 6. Hes a Koch (i like to pronounce it cock) money puppet. Hes raised almost $9 million in campaign funds to Fitzgeralds $1.2 million. Youre going to have to guess where a lot of it came from. So please, by all means, let him get reelected in November because youre too lazy to register to vote OR you you hate your self interests (do you breath? Environment.)
