So proud of my daughter this morning:). Apparently, she is a fully converted Island girl now - so much so that she thinks in terms of ferries, Not flights. Enroute to the airport in Nanaimo this morning, she realized that she was going to miss her flight. Thats because she was thinking she had to be there 15 minutes ahead of her departure time, not 45 minutes. So what did she do? While listening to the guy ahead of her seriously abusing the poor woman at the Air Canada counter for being too late to catch his flight, she started thinking outside the box. Yep. She went immediately to solution. Within minutes, she had changed her game plan and found a flight through Seaair that would only put her back by an hour or so. That information in hand, she was able to rebook her Air Canada flight from Vancouver, And, because she was so good natured about it (unlike the guy in front of her), she was rewarded by the counter person waiving the additional fee to rebook her main flight out of Vancouver. Okay, that half hour drive at 6:30 this morning actually ended up being over and hour for ME, and I did need to parade around Nanaimo airport in my Jammies - it was still worth it to see Allie using her emotional intelligence and finding a new solution to her problem with little stress. So proud of you Ms. Allie!
