So proud of our boy yesterday!!!! He had to hold perfectly still - TopicsExpress

So proud of our boy yesterday!!!! He had to hold perfectly still for almost 2 hours during the MRI. When they moved Shanes upper body into the tube... He was suddenly extremely claustrophobic. He refused to go back into the tube and we would have had to re-schedule... but, I was able to calm his nerves and talk him back into the tube! I kept my hands touching his feet, so he knew I was right there with him.. at one point, I was stressing because his feet started to move to the beat of the mri drum! I grabbed his feet, so to make it clear that hes not to move AT ALL! Unfortunately, he thought I had begun a game with him. So, he started to move his feet even more, grinning as if he were beating me in a competitive game! As Im sure you guessed, we had to do that particular part all over again..! I REALLY tried to get answers out of the tech. But, no luck!! Its against the rules/policies for him to translate any of the mri results to the patients. Shane did have his cast removed yesterday!! Thank goodness!! They x rayed his heel to be sure it healed ;-) correctly. We are awaiting results for that also. Hes limping on it pretty good. So, Ill be forcing him to wear the boot to school today. Last thing he needs, is to twist his ankle within hours of getting his cast off! Were eagerly awaiting for the mri results! I promise to keep you all posted. Continuing prayers!! Kristen (Shane & Reeses Mom).
