So regarding Fukushima: My opinion is; I am not a child, if there is information relevant to my present and future than I want to know about it, for good or bad. I never had issues with telling a patient that they were going to die. Many considered me heartless save for those that I explained they were going to die; they were always profusely grateful that someone was straightforward and honest in explaining what was happening. While panic is always a potential and there is the stages of: Shock/denial, pain/guilt, anger/bargaining, depression/reflection/loneliness, the upward turn/Spiritualism, reconstruction/working through, the inevitable last stage of acceptance is also a basis of hope. Hope before complete cognitive acceptance is nothing but delusion and denial. I cannot predict if this is the end, from my insights and perspective I do know if we have even another small accident about Chernobyl size, then yes. Life will be done here. That is how serious our situation is currently and I can confirm and prove my assertions. Fukushima has broken the back of the Pacific Ocean and it will be thousands of years before their can be a recovery from this, if there is one. Im not a fear monger, Im a fact monger and we all need to accept this as fact and share it to the world. All reactors must be shut down NOW! That is the recovery starting point if there is to be Any recovery.
